Introducing Dr Tim Bolter

Doctor Tim BolterI would like to take this opportunity to say how excited I am to be joining the Dunedin North Medical Centre team on a permanent basis having worked here as a locum since March this year.  It will be a privilege to take over your care as I know Dr Bevin has worked hard over the years to deliver a high standard of health care to his patients.

I was born in Vancouver, Canada moving to Dunedin as a child.  I attended Otago Boys’ High School and Otago University, graduating from Otago Medical School in 2000.  As a junior doctor I worked in Wellington, Gold Coast Australia, Palmerston North and Christchurch before moving to the West Coast.  I spent 11 years working as a GP in Greymouth but having enjoyed growing up in Dunedin I returned with my family in 2015 so they could share the same experience.  My partner and I have three primary school aged children.

I enjoy all aspects of general practice and appreciate the privilege of working with people of all ages and backgrounds.  With an interest in sports medicine I completed a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2015.  Outside of work I enjoy competitive long distance running and a bit of good Kiwi DIY.
