Free MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations if you aren’t fully immunised
Measles is a serious disease that is more contagious than COVID-19. It is important that all young people aged 15 to 30 years who have not been immunised for measles to get FREE catchup MMR vaccinations. The current New Zealand coverage is not sufficient to prevent an outbreak.
As part of the national campaign, we are currently focusing on improving the immunity of our 15 -30 year old patients. If you are in this age group there is no electronic record nationally of you having had the MMR vaccinations as a child. If you have a paper record, i.e. Well Child book, overseas records or old GP paper notes please email them to manager@dnmc.co.nz or bring them into the practice so we can update your records.
If you do not have documentation and are unsure whether you have had two doses of MMR please phone 477 7583 and book an appointment with the nurse for your first vaccination. Best practice is two doses of MMR vaccine and they are FREE.
