Important message for all our patients.
There are many changes happening daily so we will do everything we can to keep you up to date on what is happening at Dunedin North Medical Centre.
The situation feels overwhelming as I’m sure you will agree, and we are doing our utmost to keep our patients and staff safe.
The Ministry of Health have now instructed all medical centres to cut down on face to face consultations so we will be offering phone consultations for a range of issues like ACC18 forms, WINZ certificates and medical issues that don’t require examination. We hope to be offering video consultations within the next few days. These video consultations will be charged at a normal consultation price.
Patients who already have appointments booked this week will be contacted either by phone or text to let them know if they will have to come in or if their GP will contact them by phone.
Our phone lines are going crazy all day, every day so please be patient, we will answer your call as soon as we can.
For prescription requests please use the Patient Portal if you have registered on it, otherwise phone in and the nursing team will return your call as soon as possible. Please don’t leave it to the last minute to order prescriptions. All prescriptions will be faxed to a pharmacy of your choice to limit foot traffic within the medical centre and you will receive a text to let you know when that has been done.
For our team this is an uncertain and incredibly stressful time, but rest assured that we are doing all we can to look after your wellbeing. We all need to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Ring Healthline 0800 358 5453 if you have any questions in relation to Coronavirus or suspect you may have been in contact with a confirmed of suspected case.
Remember to check on others around you, especially the elderly or vulnerable they may need your help.
