Paper forms are slowly going!
December 10, 2020
A Ministry of Health directive has made us change the way we send your information to pharmacies, other health providers and hospitals. Fax’s are no longer considered a safe option. so we have introduced new electronic systems such as:
- Sending your repeat prescription requests electronically to the pharmacy through a system called Drinfo rescript. You will receive a text from Drinfo to say which pharmacy your doctor has sent your prescription to (this will have been your choice when you requested the repeat prescription) and a link to click on should you want to let the pharmacy know what time you would like to pick up your medication.
We will also text you to say the prescription has been sent, amount you owe the doctor for this service and our bank account details so you can pay on-line.
- Most referrals for you are done electronically by our clinical team and those that are not will be emailed via our secure emailing system. This will include radiology referrals to the hospital and other radiology services.
- Laboratory forms for blood tests etc will also be sent electronically to the Southern Community Lab, which means you can present at any of their labs and they can see your form on their electronic system.
