Getting Prepared for Winter – Flu + Covid-19 vaccinations available from April 2026
Winter Preparedness 2026
Dunedin North Medical Centre will be offering both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations from 1st April, helping you and your whānau stay protected over the winter months.
Flu and COVID-19 can both cause serious illness, particularly for those who are more vulnerable. Vaccination is the best way to reduce your risk of becoming unwell and helps protect those around you as well.
Funded flu vaccines are available for:
• Everyone aged 65 and over
• Pregnant people
• Māori and Pasifika aged 55–64
• People with certain long-term health conditions
If you are not eligible for a funded flu vaccine, you are still able to receive one by self-funding.
If you are unsure whether you qualify for a funded vaccine or have any queries, please speak with one of our nurses who will be happy to guide you.
Please call reception on (03) 477 7583 to book an appointment for one of our nurse lead flu clinics.
A short wait time of up to 15 minutes is required after your vaccination so we can ensure you are feeling well before you leave.
We encourage all eligible patients to book early and get protected ahead of the winter season.
