The following Terms of Trade apply to services provided by Dunedin North Medical Centre to its patients.
Our standard consultation fees are available upon request. Our fees take into account the following factors:
1) The time spent providing services
2) The complexity of the treatment provided
3) The costs of operating a medical practice
4) The funding available from the government agencies and other sources.
These Terms of Trade apply to all services provided by Dunedin North Medical Centre unless otherwise agreed in writing by an authorised representative of the practice.
All fees are stated in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
Consultation fees and charges may be reviewed and amended from time to time. Patients will be charged the fees applicable at the time services are provided. The practice will endeavour to notify patients of significant fee changes where practicable.
Payment may be made by cash, EFTPOS, credit card, internet banking, direct debit, or any other payment method approved by the practice.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on the day services are provided. Where credit arrangements have been approved by the practice, payment must be made by the 20th day of the month following the date of invoice, or in accordance with any agreed automatic payment arrangement.
The practice reserves the right to decline non-urgent services where an account remains overdue. This will not affect the provision of emergency medical care or treatment where required.
If an account remains unpaid after reasonable attempts have been made to obtain payment, the practice may refer the debt to a debt collection agency or take legal action to recover the outstanding amount. Information disclosed for debt recovery purposes will be limited to that permitted under the Privacy Act 2020 and any other applicable legislation.
Interest may be charged on overdue accounts at a rate equivalent to the practice’s bank overdraft lending rate, calculated daily from the date the account becomes overdue until payment is received in full.
The patient will be responsible for any reasonable costs incurred by the practice in recovering outstanding amounts, including debt collection fees, legal costs, and court costs where permitted by law.
The practice reserves the right to require payment in advance for certain services.
By receiving services from Dunedin North Medical Centre, patients acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Trade.
